We have been traveling towards the state of Minnesota in a round about way. We stopped in Tucson to see our friends. They are cousins of Jeff but I have become so close to them they are like brothers to me. I don't think I know any nicer men in my life than these two. Jim has Parkinson's now but can't remember when I have seen him look this good. He is such a gentle man. When we hugged goodbye we laughed because he is unstable and with my balance problem so am I we almost fell down. Sometimes I think we are two of a kind. Dale he is the comical relief. He is a big marshmallow but likes to appear the opposite. He is funnier than the dickens with a warped sense of humor that I understand, and yet as gentlemanly as you can find. It was a good visit and would like to see them more often.
Then we made it to Albuquerque to visit a darling young woman. One we have known since before she was born, one that we enjoyed seeing almost daily for years, till her father put a stop to me seeing her and her sister. I have tried to keep in touch the best I can with them as they are still my girls. Bonnie is the youngest and we took her and her boyfriend out to eat. We had almost 3 hours of enjoyment with them. I got all caught up on her life and met the boyfriend, Morgan,. They are both great kids, and she is in school to get a doctorate in geology{If I got it straight} and she is so smart. Carries a 4.0 GPA and works in a lab, and is an avid runner. She is just skin, bone, and muscle from that hobby. But as beautiful as ever. Now if I could just see her sister again.
We started back to MN with the idea that we would be back in time for memorial day. I have never been there for it and Leroy would like to go to South Dakota with his sister to visit their family graves. In the Midwest visiting graves on Memorial Day is a big deal. So we headed out just pushing to get home by the weekend (thinking of course that the weekend was memorial day). Leroy talked to his sister yesterday only to find out or be reminded that memorial weekend is next weekend. He lost a week in may early in the month and eventually he caught me up in his fantasy month and I forgot it too. So we are a week ahead of schedule and were going to lollygag along but then today my niece Cassie posts she is having a garage sale of her mothers stuff and we decided we should be there so back to our original schedule. That's the way we travel, changing our minds and planning it as we go along. I have no idea how people plan vacations and trips, I can't even fathom that. How would you know what and when you want to see something.
We know we are back in the Midwest as when we stop b side of road to check maps or figure out some kind of plan, someone always stops to check and see if we need help. The towns are clean, and there are only small delapitated section, and that is usually neat. The yards show no sign of people that don't care. lPride of ownership, management is evident everywhere.
